Congratulations to our De La Salle Society Inductees - Ken ‘64 and Kathy Baier!

Our 2021 De La Salle Society Inductees were very involved in the betterment of health for people.

She graduated from the University of Dayton in 1968..

From there she started working as a chemist for P & G in the R and D department.

While at P & G she began a cooperative program with the CDC that lead to:

  • Research which proved the benefit of hand washing for preventing disease in developing countries
  • It also created another research project which led to the development of P & G’s safe drinking water packets, which P & G has provided to emergency relief organizations such as Americares, CARE, Save the Children and World Vision since 2004.

She has provided service to the community as the Little Flower SVDP secretary for 20 years and at the Colerain Senior Center YMCA as the Ronald McDonald Quilter for 10 years

He is a member of our first graduating class in 1964.   While attending school here he participated in wrestling, fine arts, track for two seasons and football for three years where he became the first selected Most Valuable Player.

He then attended and graduated from Dayton in 1968.

After graduation, he became a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman until 1970.

This developed his career at UC Health as a Laboratory Medical Technologist and Lab Manager until 1977.

From here, he opened up his own remodeling business.

I am sure they both had a heavy influence on their children Ed and Jennie as both are now chemical engineers.

In 2018, they created a family scholarship to assist students with tuition assistance as their way of giving back to our alma mater.
